This article details a systematic review and meta-analysis of pharmacoepidemiological studies conducted between January 2016 and January 2023, investigating the cardiovascular risks associated with cannabis and cannabinoid use. The research aimed to determine the association between cannabis use and major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), specifically focusing on outcomes like acute coronary syndrome (ACS), stroke, and cardiovascular death. The authors analyzed 24 studies and found positive associations between cannabis use and MACE, including increased risks for ACS, stroke, and cardiovascular mortality. These findings underscore the importance of considering cannabis use in patients with serious cardiovascular conditions.
